HOS 101 Intro to Hospitality and Tourism Career Paper: Books and Ebooks

Books and eBooks

Use Primo on the library homepage to find print and eBooks on hospitality careers.

Do your search and then use the ebook check box under Limit to Resource type to limit your results to just Books

Searching tips:

  • Use quotation marks for phrases: "event management"
  • Use a wildcard (an asterisk *) on the root of a word, so manag* gets hits for manager, management, managing and manage
  • Add additional terms to focus your results on career information. Best terms are career* or "vocational guidance" Capitalize the word AND: restaurant* AND career* or restaurant* AND "vocational guidance"

Accessing Print Books

Circulating books on hospitality careers

There are many print books on hospitality careers that you can borrow from the JCC Library. Use Primo  to see if there is something of interest.

Try using the terms "vocational guidance" or "career*" in combination with the career area you are researching. You need to capitalize the word AND to indicate it is to be used as a command. For example: food AND career*, or tourism AND career*. Here are some titles to give you an idea of what is available.

Your Librarians / Ask for Help

Need help with something? Ask Us for Help!

If you are on-campus you are encouraged to stop by the Library and ask for help, we welcome the opportunity to work with you.

If you are off-campus and we are open your best option is to call the Reference Desk at 315-786-2482 and ask for one of us. You can also contact us via email or if you need immediate assistance and we are not open, you can chat with a librarian online (likely not a JCC librarian, but helpful nonetheless) as outlined on our "Ask for Help" web page.

We look forward to working with you!
