Information Cycle Tutorial

Days after an event, the news media continues to report new information, which often includes expert opinions.

Weeks after an event, analysis of the cause of the event begins. News magazines publish summaries and analysis. Social networking sites, such as chat rooms and blogs, feature discussions of facts and opinions.

All of these sources contain some degree of bias. Newspapers print facts, statistics, photographs, and interviews with experts. News magazines and blogs print basic analysis, opinions, and analysis of cause. Both magazines and blogs can show editorial bias.
