SWANK Digital Campus: Home

Tips for vewing SWANK Digital Campus films on your computer

The recommended system requirements include:

  1. Network connection: 1.5 Mbps (megabits) minimum, 3.0 Mbps recommended
  2. RAM: 1 GB minimum
  3. CPU: Intel Core Duo 2.4 GHz minimum

Browser:  On campus use Chrome. If instructed to update the Media Optimizer, follow the instructions.

On your personal or home computer use the latest version of  Chrome. Download Chrome or use the latest version of Firefox. Download Firefox. Safari also works with SWANK. To use with a iPad or other tablet download the free SWANK Media Player from the Ap Store.

Captions:  To enable captions start streaming the film. Choose gear icon on lower right and turn on subtitles.

 

Viewing clips:  Use the slider at the bottom of the screen display to move to a specified time in the running film. There is virtually zero buffering time necessary to start viewing at any part of a SWANK film.

Microsoft Windows

Digital Campus only supports operating systems and browsers that are currently supported by Microsoft. The current list of supported Microsoft operating systems can be found here. In addition, Microsoft only supports the latest versions of Internet Explorer released for each Windows Desktop Operating System. The current list of supported IE versions can be found here. Digital Campus only supports the latest versions (not pre-release) of Google Chrome and Firefox available for the operating system.

For Windows we recommend Firefox v. 47 or higher or Chrome. Other browser iterations may require plugins.

Apple Mac

Digital Campus only supports operating systems and browsers currently supported by Apple. The current support is for the current version of Mac OS X, plus the 2 previous versions. Digital Campus only supports the latest versions (not pre-release) of Google Chrome and Firefox available for the operating system.

To get a link for a film go to the SWANK Digital Campus homepage. Choose the film you want and go to it's page. Use the "Copy LMS Link" below the film to get a proxied link that looks like this: Watch Platoon  to paste into your your class in Blackboard.
