Your Project:  Marketing Outskirts 1812

Facebook Site: Outskirts 1812

Background Information: Outskirts 1812 is a "boutique business", which refers to a business of a smaller size that sells their own luxury products or unique services or hand-curated products that are often unique or fit into a niche. In considering marketing for Outskirts 1812, it may be useful to look both at how major health and wellness venues market themselves, as well as how other boutique businesses market themselves.

The goal of Outskirts 1812 is to "bring health and wellness to all that visit. This unique venture offers health and wellness retreats, workshops and classes, seasonal and holiday activities (such as Halloween Hayrides and Christmas Tree Sales), a space to host private and public entertainment events (such as weddings or live music), sale of plants and gift items, and coming this summer "glamping!" One unique feature of this business is their "therapy goats," which are used to provide "Goat Yoga."

Industry Classification: Public companies self-identify their primary industry using the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS). They may also identify secondary industries, often unrelated to the primary. Because they are self-identified, competitors often have different primary industries.

NAICS 711310 Promoters of Performing Arts, Sports, and Similar Events with Facilities

NAICS 713900 Golf Courses, Country Clubs, Ski Resorts, Gym, Fitness Centers and Other Recreational Facilities ...

NAICS 713990 All Other Amusement and Recreation Industries

NAICS 721214 Recreational and Vacation Camps (except Campgrounds)

If you are on-campus you are encouraged to stop by the Library and ask for help, we welcome the opportunity to work with you.

If you are off-campus and we are open your best option is to call the Reference Desk at 315-786-2482 and ask for one of us. You can also contact us via email or if you need immediate assistance and we are not open, you can chat with a librarian online (likely not a JCC librarian, but helpful nonetheless) as outlined on our "Ask for Help" web page.

We look forward to working with you!
